Meet Henri-Michel Yéré

Henri-Michel Yéré is a historian and poet born in1978 in Abidjan. He is the author of the two poetry collections Mil Neuf Cent Quatre-Vingt-Dix, published by Panafrika in 2015, and La nuit était notre seule arme, published in the same year by L’Harmattan. He holds a BA degree in Historical Studies at the University of Cape Town (South Africa). At the University of Basel, he obtained an MA degree in African Studies with a thesis about The Cultural Biography of a Generation: Zouglou Music and Youth in Côte d’Ivoire and PhD degree with a dissertation on Citizenship, Nationality and History in Côte d’Ivoire, 1929-1999. Yéré is currently the Senior Partner for Diversity and Inclusion at the Novartis Switzerland, and he teaches at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL). Henri lives and works in Basel.
